When applying moisturiser or any cream to your face do a little massage at the same time, always massage upwards and focus on the areas along the jaw line or any pressure points that relieve tension for you.
If, like me, you cringe at the thought of using highly toxic chemicals to clear your drains, try the following recipe, it is not only better for the environment - it won't damage your drains.
1/2 cup of baking soda
1/2 cup of vinegar (I use apple cider or red wine vinegar but anything you have to hand is fine)
I kettle of boiling water
Now try it:
Pour the baking soda into the drain and slowly pour the same amount of vinegar. Watch for it to fizz and be careful of the fumes from the vinegar. Leave the mixture to fizz away and do its thing for around 20-30 mins. Rinse with the kettle of hot water.
If you have a very large drain to clear then you can use a cup of baking soda and the same amount of vinegar but I find on smaller drains too much baking soda just clogs the drain further and the vinegar doesn't get through to do it's work.
If the drain is still running slowly repeat the process.
Put a squeeze of lemon juice in the hot water for the rinse. I do this if I happen to have some left over lemon in the fridge but otherwise it also works fine without it.
I use this mixture in my shower at least once a month to keep it clear. For the sinks and basins it is needed less often and I probably use it once every six weeks.
Did you know:
If you have a fruit fly problem in your kitchen you might need to clear the sink drain as this is a great place for the flies to breed. Using the above process will not only clear your drain - it will kill the fruit flies!
If you have any comments, questions or have other ideas for clearing the drain, I'd love to hear from you.
